I DO LOVE TO COMMUNICATE (& SIMPLIFY!)

…on the (political & intersectional) future
So it matters when we see people of all kinds rise - and oh if you’re tapping in right now, it really feels like just the start, doesn’t it? The symbolism of powerful women rising into a new kind of leadership - women that don’t have to play by the same old tired playbook and be bigger badder meaner aka Margaret Thatcher and other conservative leaders #kimcampbell (thank you #drbonniehenry) - gives us a concrete and practical place to launch from. Gives us the tangible experience say yes - we can really see that the divine feminine is rising, and it can be the rallying cry to raise the army that is needed to really do so.
…on how I’m making peace with my body (right now)
To spend time really paying attention it it, and thanking it (if you find that part cheesy, you can skip it - but it feels less weird the more you do it, I promise!), and actually tuning in rather than just always pushing it and asking it for more. Slowing down might feel really hard (or ‘selfish’ or ‘indulgent’) at first, but just remember. That’s only your social conditioning - it’s not real! #maybeshesbornwithitmaybeitspatriarchy - and we can rewrite that story with time and new habits.
On RBG and grief…
BY THE TIME I FINALLY PUBLISH THIS, IT WILL BE 1 WEEK - ALMOST EXACTLY TO THE DAY - SINCE I HEARD THE NEWS
Much like 9/11, or the death of Princess Diana, I will forever remember where I was when I heard that Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. #notoriousRBG
On community and the unexpected...
This is kind of a weird year to talk about community, isn’t it? In so many ways, we’re further away from each other than we’ve ever been. Communities have been physically distanced, in some cases fractured, and no matter how hard we try? A “zoom happy hour” will just never be the same…
On scents…
Nearly everything we inhale ends up in our bloodstream. This means that simply breathing something in - whether it’s essential oils or that “keep out of reach of children” cleaner (ps let’s upgrade you out of that, shoot me a note if you’re curious to know what I use - it’s so clean my kid can literally eat it), everything we are exposed to can end up inside our bodies. That means that when we use oils, they can be readily transported to all organs of the body (including the brain).
